Artist DNA (also known as Context AI) is a powerful feature that builds a comprehensive, vectorized knowledge profile of an artist. This profile powers semantic search and contextual AI responses across the entire Chatmu platform.

What Artist DNA Extracts

When you trigger an extraction for a saved artist, the system analyzes multiple data sources:

Music Catalog: Full track list from Soundcharts with metadata — BPM, key, ISRC, composers, producers, genres, moods.
Lyrical Themes: Semantic analysis of lyrics across the artist's catalog.
Visual Identity: Analysis of Instagram post visuals, aesthetic patterns, and visual style.
Social Media History: Processed Instagram posts with AI-generated visual descriptions and transcribed captions.
Audience Stats: Global audience demographics, platform performance, and geographic reach.

How It Works

Trigger Extraction: From an artist's detail page, click Context AI to start the DNA extraction. You can select which modules to include.
Review Data: Once extraction is complete (status: COMPLETED), you'll see the raw JSON data. You can manually edit genres, themes, and aesthetics before approval.
Approve & Vectorize: Upon approval, the system organizes the data into semantic chunks and sends them to Pinecone, our vector database, for embedding.
AI Context: Once vectorized, the Chatmu AI Agent can semantically search the artist's DNA to provide deeply contextual, artist-specific responses.

Vectorized artist DNA means the AI agent understands your artists at a deep level. It can reference specific tracks, lyrical themes, visual aesthetics, and audience patterns when answering questions — making every AI interaction personalized and context-aware.

Data Management

You can update the DNA anytime by triggering a new extraction. Deleting an artist from your roster also removes their DNA and vector data from Pinecone.
