Creating and Publishing Posts
Follow these steps to compose and send a post to your artists' social media accounts.
Step 1: Compose Your Content
Go to Social Media → Publish.
Write your post in the text area. This is the main content that will appear across all selected platforms. Keep in mind:
- Text length limits vary by platform (e.g., Twitter/X has a character limit)
- URLs in your content are supported but may affect posting costs on some platforms
Use the tabs below the text area to attach images or videos:
- Upload File: Upload new files from your computer (images and videos up to 150MB)
- My Files: Select from files you've already uploaded to Chatmu
- Chatmu Create: Select videos you've recently generated with Chatmu Create (last 72 hours)
Click on media items to select or deselect them. Selected items show a pink checkmark.
See Adding Media to Posts for full details on media management.
Step 3: Select Artist and Accounts
On the right panel:
Select an artist from the dropdown. This filters which social accounts appear.
Select the accounts you want to publish to. Click each account card to toggle it on/off. Selected accounts are highlighted in pink.
If the artist has no connected accounts, you'll see shortcuts to:
- Connect Accounts — go set up their social accounts
- Invite Artist (Business plan) — invite the artist to manage their own accounts
Step 4: Publish or Schedule
Choose when to publish:
- Publish Now: Leave the date/time field empty and click Publish Now
- Schedule: Select a date and time, then click Schedule Post
The button label changes depending on whether you set a schedule date.
What Happens After You Click Publish
- The post is saved immediately as pending and you get a confirmation
- Your media files (if any) are uploaded in the background
- The content is sent to each selected platform
- You can track progress in History
- YouTube: Requires a video attachment. Text-only posts to YouTube will be rejected.
- Twitter/X: Posts containing URLs will incur a higher credit cost. Remove the URL or deselect Twitter to avoid this.
Plan Limits
Your subscription plan determines how many social posts you can make per month. If you reach your limit, you'll need to upgrade or wait until it resets.
