Obtaining your Chatmu API Key

How to generate the required secure API Key from your Chatmu Dashboard.

1 Access the API Section

Before connecting any Agent to Chatmu, you must authenticate your sessions using a secure API Key. First, log into your Chatmu Account.

Navigate to the bottom-left corner of the sidebar and click on Chatmu API. Alternatively, you can go to Settings and select the last option labeled API.

2 Create a New Key

Once you are in the API settings panel, switch to the API Keys tab. To generate a new credential, click the pink New button located at the top right of the table.

3 Configure Key Details

A pop-up window will appear. Fill in the following details:

• Name/Alias: An internal name to identify which Agent or environment will use this key.

• Expiration Date: Set when the key should automatically expire.

• Active Toggle: Ensure this is checked (default) to keep the key functional.

Click Save to confirm.

4 Copy and Secure your Key

Your new API Key will now appear in your list. Click the Copy button to save it to your clipboard.

⚠️ Security Tip: Keep this key secure! It authorizes your AI credit usage and distribution actions. You can create multiple keys tailored to different environments.
